NEST FEST CELEBRATES SHOREBIRDS AND COASTAL CONSERVATION
The second annual Nest Fest, hosted by the City of Orange Beach Coastal Resources, brought families and nature lovers together for a fun-filled day at the Lake Shelby Picnic Area in Gulf State Park. The event celebrated local conservation efforts, with a special emphasis on protecting shorebirds and preserving the Gulf Coast’ s unique natural habitats.
Attendees enjoyed live music by the Funky Lampshades, delicious food, and a variety of interactive educational booths presented by organizations such as the City of Orange Beach, Alabama Audubon, and Gulf State Park. The festival offered an engaging mix of environmental education and entertainment, making it a memorable experience for all ages.
From hands-on activities to wildlife information, Nest Fest highlighted the importance of community involvement in conservation while offering a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere in one of the area’ s most scenic settings.
