LATOYA BELFON , author and CEO of Labworks Publishing , is a McGill alumna recognized for over 15 children ’ s books and her advocacy for diversity in literature through workshops and webinars . Cofounding Empowered Women in Lit , she ’ s earned accolades like Woman of Merit and Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada 2023 for her impact on the literary community .
LARRY STRACHAN , a Winnipeg-based composer and conductor , founded Chamber Orchestra Without Borders Inc . in 2006 . He composed Lament for the Souls of Sauteurs and J ’ Ouvert Morning , honoring his heritage . The latter was commissioned and performed by the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra in May 2023 under Anne Manson ’ s direction .
LENNOX ANTOINE , originally from Woodlands , St . George ’ s , Grenada , began his culinary journey with Caribbean flavors . After moving to Canada in 1990 , he pursued entrepreneurship , opening Island Flava Caribbean Restaurant in Ottawa in 2005 . The restaurant has received numerous awards , including Faces Magazine ’ s Best Caribbean Restaurant seven times , for its authentic and flavorful dishes .
LOUISE NOEL-AMBROSE , born in St . Patrick ’ s , Grenada , in 1973 , is a social media guru and community advocate . She promotes and coordinates various events , including those for the annual Grenada Association of Toronto , Grenada Day Toronto , and serves as Secretary for the NDC Canada Chapter .
LYNETTE ROOKER is a Grenadian author , artist , and traveller who has lived in Europe , Asia , Africa , and North America with her family . Her paintings are collected by international art buyers , and her book , A Grenadian in Asia , recounts her captivating travel adventures .
