Chef Carl Raeburn

I am Chef Carl Raeburn , from Mt Craven , St Patrick ’ s , Grenada . Growing up on my island , I always had a passion for cooking , and in 2010 I embarked on that career path , completing secondary school then moving on to T . A . Marryshow College to complete the culinary arts program .
The one Grenadian ingredient I love to use in my cooking is local seasoning peppers . That is the ingredient that makes my dishes complete . They have a little sweetness and a little spice which adds so many flavours !
Upon completion I went to Barbados on a three-month internship at the Crane Residential Resort . There I gained added substantial experience in the culinary arts . Thereafter I began making birthday and wedding cakes and catering for small functions and parties .
To build on my skills as a Chef , I worked in a small restaurant , where I was able to gain more experience . After five years , I moved into the hotel industry becoming an assistant chef at Sandals Resort in Grenada , qualified in Indian cuisine , some Mexican dishes , and other international dishes . I am still in the learning process and looking to gain more knowledge about different foods and cultures .
