their kind blessing , I was able to pay off my tuition and semesters fee .
Balancing time between my studies and work has been challenging . I ’ ve managed to keep up with my grades but not to the degree I would be satisfied with and I know I haven ’ t been able to put my all into my studies due to splitting my time between work and studying . Even with those challenges I aim to push forward and become successful and achieve my goal . This opportunity gives a huge boost to place my full attention on my studies and will greatly assist me in completing my academic studies and place me in a position where I can fulfill my dream of becoming a chef .

Some of the ways in which I am hoping and willing to give back to my community through a apprenticeship type program which will give young aspiring culinary students as myself an opportunity to develop and learn from more experienced chefs , I would also like to open a “ factory ” or way by which breadfruit and other prominent fruit and plant that are in a abundance can be processed or used to create different types of foods such as flour . I will after gaining enough success like give back money to schools , health
care centers or any organization that deals with the parents or students that are struggling will be a contributive factor as this is something that I can deeply relate to due to my own circumstance .
I , Vanessa Telesford , am truly grateful to receive this GemStar Scholarship to further my culinary journey . Thank you to Playmas Montreal Cultural Association for this opportunity and for recognizing students in Grenada . My special thanks also to Chef Belinda Bishop for selecting me on behalf of Playmas Montreal to receive this scholarship .
