Wild Indians
This is another celebrated group of revelers The Wild Indians , with painted bodies and bearing swords , they were wild but only for entertainment purposes , they were also superb with compelling and dramatic showmanship .
Their costumes were gorgeous scant bodices with magnificent color short skirts , long ropey hair and Wild Indian beads , bracelets , armlets , stunning earrings , tinkling ‘ glow balls , and the best of the crocheted petticoat . Their headdress is masked ships decorated with colorful streamers . to for payment . Instead , a coin or coins were tossed at any member of the band during their performance , and on contact with the coin a “ Wild Indian ” would fall to the ground , the others would gather over the fallen comrade as though he or she was dead and then an intense ceremony began . This ceremony consisted of loud gladdened chants and frenzied motions which were expressions of thanks and gratitude .
