Alexander McQueen’s breath taking gown, designed exclusively for
Kate Middleton for her wedding day might be a copy of Christine
Kendall designs. Alexander McQueen is a British luxury fashion
house founded by designer Alexander McQueen in 1992. It’s
current creative director is Sarah Burton. Due to her excellent work
in 2012, Burton was awarded an OBE, or The Most Excellent
Order of the British Empire Honour, for services to the fashion
industry at Buckingham palace.
Although Christine stands firm on her accusations, no past records
against McQueen copying other brand designs has ever been
reported. Christine Kendall a Hertfordshire-based bridal designer
on the other hand filed a lawsuit in the court of London accusing
Alexander McQueen for copying her sketches. She claims that she
presented the sketch of the dress before the royal wedding to Kate
Middleton herself. She also informed that she will make sure that
duchess Kate Middleton will not be involved in this matter. She
reported “This claim is not against the duchess and there is no
allegation of wrongdoing against”.
In one report Kendall also said that about 13
months after the royal wedding she reached out to
McQueen regarding the similarities of the dress.
However, McQueen denies Christine Kendall’s
accusations.
The spokesman for McQueen said he is, “utterly
baffled” by the legal claim. McQueen said they
never saw Kendall’s sketches; in fact, they didn’t
know about her until she reached out to them 13
months after the royal wedding.
