field . Belsil eco EG 3001 and Belsil eco DM 3096 are biomethanol-based silicone elastomer gels that use organic solvents : isohexadecane and a mixture of undecane and tridecane respectively . These have virtually identical performance to the siloxanebased solvents hitherto used , the company said .
Wacker also presented a formulation for leave-in hair care products , combining the silicone elastomer gel Belsil EG 3000 and the gum blend Belsil GB 3010 . This format is more sustainable than traditional rinse-off conditioners , Wacker claims , because it can reduce water and energy consumption in the shower , as well as saving time and having excellent care properties .
Form & structure
Nouryon launched a biodegradable personal care technology , Structure M3 co-surfactant . This was developed in response to consumers ’ increasing preference for more natural and milder ingredients and is claimed to enhance the functionality and appeal of a wide range of personal care formulations .
Structure M3 is available as a waterless , free-flowing powder of high natural content , is cold-water processable and is compatible with both sulfate- and sulfate-free surfactant systems . Nouryon added that it “ significantly reduces the irritation potential of commonly used surfactant systems , offering customers the optimal balance of mildness , cleansing , and foaming in shampoo , facial cleanser and body wash formulations ”.
Lanxess added Purox S Scopeblue as a climate-friendlier but technically identical alternative to its established Purox S , which is a nature-identical and readily biodegradable sodium benzoate preservative . The company uses the Scopeblue brand label to identify its own products whose
CO 2 footprint is at least 50 % lower than that of conventional products or which consist of at least 50 % sustainable raw materials . Purox S Scopeblue is produced with green energy and renewable raw materials to be basically climate-neutral according to the MB approach .
From DSM came Eterwell Youth . Based on a rare plant , Alpine willowherb , that is sustainably and organically cultivated in ancient glacier moraine , this is described as a true senolytic active , clearing 52 % of senescent ( or zombie ) cells in in vitro tests . According to DSM , it acts at cellular level and “ reduces the appearance of wrinkles and helps increase the skin elasticity and smoothness with a better skin structure ”.
Finally , Inolex unveiled Spectrastat CHA ( caprylhydroxamic acid ), a 100 % natural , coconut-derived organic acid and chelating agent . This is supplied in powder form and is said to be a stand-alone component to provide maximum flexibility , which can also be paired with medium-chain terminal diols . It remains effective at neutral pH and prevents the growth of yeast and mould in formulations , the company added . ●
