Birmingham hosts ChemUK again

The dedicated UK show for the chemical and related industries takes place at the NEC in May

ChemUK , the UK ’ s only largescale chemical , laboratory and process engineering show , returns on 15-16 May in Hall 1 of the National Exhibition Centre near Birmingham . It is free to attend and is open to visitors from 9.30 to 17.00 on the first day and 9.30 to 16.00 on the second . Speciality Chemicals Magazine is a media partner and will be present throughout . This year , ChemUK is divided into four zones . The Chemical Supply Show zone , the most important for the speciality chemicals market , brings together specialist chemical manufacturers and distributors supporting industries including chemical manufacturing , pharmaceuticals , agriculture , personal care and water treatment , among many others
In the Chemicals Management Show zone will be chemical supply chain organisations providing products , services and equipment in the areas of : chemical logistics and transportation ; storage , containment , labelling and packaging ; HSE management , REACH and regulatory compliance ; and waste management and recycling services .
The Process & Chemical Engineering Show zone will showcase the latest technology and services for process and control engineering and safety professionals across the chemicals sector and related industries , including food and beverage , pharma , oil and gas , water , wastewater and energy .
Finally , the Chemical Laboratory Show zone will showcase specialist laboratory chemicals and chemical equipment suppliers supporting R & D , analysis , process design and development , scale-up and quality testing within all of the chemical and chemical product industries .
ChemUK is supported by all of the major UK industry associations in the chemical space , who will have their own stands and participate in the two-day programme of 90-minute mini-conferences , 60-minute panel sessions and individual showcases taking place across five stages on the show-floor . • Bioprocess Scale-Up : From Benchtop to Commercialisation , hosted by IBioIC
• Scale-Up Challenges Towards ‘ Sustainable Production ’, hosted by the Institution of Chemical Engineers
• Achieving & Demonstrating Sustainability in the Chemical Supply Chain , and Transitioning into the Digitally-Enabled Age – How Equipped is your Chemical Supply Chain ?, both hosted by the CBA
• Connecting into the UK ’ s Innovation Support Ecosystem , hosted by ScotChem
• Evolution of the Chemicals Industry , and Technologies That Will Disrupt Chemical Manufacturing , both hosted by Innovate UK and the Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council
• Designing Ingredients Safely & Sustainably hosted by the British Chemicals Association There will be daily briefings on regulatory matters from different UK government departments : the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs and the Health and Safety Executive on one day , and the Department for Business and Trade on the other .
In addition , Caroline Raine of Ricardo will host a panel session on ‘ EU / GB Divergence – The Gap is Starting to Grow ’. Another Ricardo session will be dedicated to ‘ Exploring the Intersection Between Sustainability & Regulation Hazards Communication ’, while Ramboll will address ‘ PFAS & Emerging Chemicals of Concern ’.
On the regulatory side , CIRS will offer updates on China and the latest amendments to GHS regulations in Asia-Pacific countries , while ReachLAW will cover Korea and WSP will cover ‘ The Future Costs of REACH ’. From Germany , Dr Knoell Consult will tackle ‘ Product Stewardship & Master Data Management in Transition ’.
