Paris plays hosts to the world ’ s most important cosmetic ingredients show in April . We take a look ahead
In-Cosmetics Global , the world ’ s largest trade show about cosmetic ingredients , returns to one of its perennial locations , Paris Expo Porte de Versailles , in Halls 1 and 2.2 , on 16-18 April . Opening hours are 9.00 to 18.00 on the first two days and 9.00 to 17.00 on the third . Once again , Speciality Chemicals Magazine is among the media partners .
The exhibitors represent about 95 % of the world ’ s top suppliers of personal care ingredients , such as BASF , Croda , Ashland , Solvay , Evonik , Lonza , Momentive , Clariant and Wacker Chemicals . Also present are testing labs , fragrance houses , lab equipment manufacturers , consultancies and other business services .
Visitors include R & D specialists and formulators from major cosmetics manufacturers . By company activity , they are about 29 % manufacturers of finished products , 15 % distributors , 12 % distributors and manufacturers of ingredients , 11 % manufacturers of raw materials and ingredients , and 10 % contract manufacturers and private label suppliers .
As ever , the show will feature national pavilions bringing together suppliers who offer a range of differing products but come from the same country . This year ’ s pavilions come from France , the UK , Spain , Brazil , Peru , South Africa and Tunisia .
There are also multiple themed zones , staring with the Sustainability Zone , an area dedicated to showcasing the latest developments and achievements in sustainable beauty . This includes a product display , a lecture theatre that will host 11 presentations on 17 April , and a pavilion for companies who can support suppliers and manufacturers in becoming more sustainable in areas such as packaging , distribution , accreditation and labelling .
In the Fragrance Zone , fragrance houses , producers and distributors of extracts and ingredients will showcase their products . The Innovation Zone , meanwhile , features the newest raw materials , with each box displaying an ingredient launched within the last six months . Within this zone are the Mintel Live Demos , which will “ reveal key trends and products shaping the future of the beauty industry ”.
The Testing , Regulation & Lab Zone showcases offerings to ensure the safety , stability and shelf-life of personal care products , plus developments in the world of lab equipment and measuring devices . Within it , ‘ Boost your Test ’ organised by Skinobs , will help companies to identify the most appropriate testing methods and select CROs .
Products displayed at the Sensory Bar offer sensory experiences for personal care formulations , ranging from fragrances for haircare , to tastes for lipsticks and textures for moisturisers . Finally the Make-Up Bar enables visitors to see and test new make-up formulations , including eyeshadows , foundations , nail varnishes and lip lacquers .
The show floor also hosts multiple theatres with free-to-attend presentations over the course of all

• Technical Seminars , comprising 84 presentations from raw material suppliers , which provide an overview of their latest development
• Formulation Lab , which is open only to R & D professionals from cosmetic and contract manufacturers and focusing on new formulation techniques The In-Cosmetics Global Awards honour cosmetic science excellence and innovation in ingredients . They recognise ingredients that combine science and product features that deliver substantial benefits to both manufacturers and end-users . The award categories are :
