An international trade fair such as Vitrum is the ideal opportunity to take stock of new trends in the glass industry , and to understand how cuttingedge companies are managing to respond to , and sometimes anticipate , the needs of customers . It is then natural to take a look inside Mappi ’ s home , to hear from the living voice of technicians and managers where the market is going . The answer we receive is this : the market is moving in two directions , only seemingly contrasting : it is aiming at the “ ever bigger ” and simultaneously to the “ getting smaller and smaller .” “ Increasingly bigger ” means producing tempering machines capable of handling sheets up to 6,000x3,300 mm , such as those suitable for covering the glazing of a skyscraper , but at the same time working at reduced load , without wasting energy , but rather with maximum flexibility , allowing the furnace to work even 24 / 7 , switching in a few minutes from one configuration to another , thanks to a user-friendly interface , software and state-of-the-art hardware , and materials and components that are unmatched . What we are talking about is not just any furnace , but is MTH , Mappi ’ s latest addition , a quenching furnace with a loading surface up to 6,000x3,300 mm , extreme flexibility , and all the innovations that have made Mappi the leader in terms of consumption optimization , reliability , and productivity .
