Carla Rosene: In Memoriam
The Missouri Literacy Association (MLA) mourns the passing of Carla Rosene on July, 4, 2021, after a brief illness. Carla was the treasurer of MLA and membership chair of the St. Louis Regional Literacy Association. We are all sad when an elder in the community passes, but when a dynamic young leader like Carla Rosene passes, we mourn even more. Carla was a respected young leader at the state and local levels of the International Literacy Association (ILA) and a dedicated teacher of 6-8 grade Communication Arts at St. Francis Cabrini Academy in St. Louis. She was young and she left us far too soon. Her energy and devotion to her students and to the literacy community will be greatly missed. We miss her now and we shall miss her in days and years to come.
