Q: How was childbirth for you?
Jemma: It was pretty straight forward - I hypnobirthed and found it an (almost!) enjoyable experience
Kat: Mine luckily was also uncomplicated, I did hypnobirthing too but opted for an epidural alongside it - not conventional I guess but it worked for me!
Q: Best and worst things about being pregnant?
We both agree the best thing was the excitement of knowing we were going to have a baby, worst was definitely feeling exhausted all the time!
Q: What have you found the most rewarding about motherhood so far?
Making lots of new friends going through the same thing has been lovely and obviously seeing how our little girls change on a day to day basis makes it all worth it.
Q: What have you found to be the greatest challenge in being a parent?
Just how much life has changed has been a challenge for both us, and our husbands!
Q: What encouraged you to volunteer for your NCT role?
We met through a postnatal NCT course - our weekly meet ups with Alex Bollen and the rest of the group were a real lifeline in the early weeks and we wanted to help out with NCT to make sure courses like this continue.
Q: What is your ideal way to spend a child-free afternoon, or evening?
Drinking wine, and eating a plate of food with both hands, whilst it's hot!
Q: What is the best or worst piece of parenting advice you have ever received?
Best: That it's ok to not "achieve " anything like housework, exercise etc as you've actually achieved a lot just by keeping your little one alive, healthy and happy!
Worst: The constant pressure to get your baby into a routine, it might work for some families but if it's not for you, just go with what does work.
