Autumn/Winter 2017 Issue
Credits & Contents
Hello,
Welcome to the Winter 2017 Edition of Special Delivery. The over riding message of this issue is try not to put pressure on yourself to be the perfect parent. Easier said than done, especially when it is all being played out in front of opinionated relatives during the Christmas holidays.
In the Birth and Early Days sections our experienced NCT Experts candidly answer the big questions on breastfeeding, pain relief during pregnancy and establishing a routine.
In the parenting section we look at coping with the curve balls that crop up just when you have given all you have got to give and think you have this parenting lark sussed. We look at your family safety on social media and at home over the festive season. We shine a spotlight on Imposter Syndrome and the feelings of inadequacy it causes in new parents. We look at ways to help you feel fabulous as a new mum thanks to expert style tips and an effective postpartum exercise routine. I share my honest feelings about becoming a mum for the second time and finally our branch Chair Emma reminisces about her first Christmas as a new mum and decamping her new little family to her childhood bedroom at her parents’ house. A huge thank you to all of the wonderful writers for their fabulous content and a special thank you to my husband for putting up with me swearing at my laptop during Match of The Day until he offered to help format this.
Merry Christmas
