CCP checks out the banks in Hounslow
CCP members have been busy trying to meet with the banks in Hounslow to ask them how they support people with learning disabilities . We know lots of people with a learning disability find it hard to use banks .
Most of the banks said they could offer lots of support & help people with things like using the cash machine . They all said that wheelchairs users can use the bank but none of them have information in Easy Read .
For our next steps our members are going to be Mystery Bankers to find out if the banks really do what they say ! We will then let the banks know what we think they can do to make things easier for people with learning disabilities .
If you would like to tell us your stories about using banks then give Sarah or Jaspaul a call .
Learning Disability Awareness in school
In May , CCP members went to Brentford School for Girls to talk to the students about what it is like to have a learning disability .
The girls took part in some exercises and talked to our members . We had some great feedback : “ The girls absolutely loved it … thank you so much for coming to visit our students – they really gained so much from the experience ”.
