Also, everyone decided that they would splash other rafts as we paddled past them, ensuring to get the people on the raft as wet as possible. I can confidently say that (even after drying from jumping in) I was soaked through! Overall, the experience of white water rafting was thoroughly enjoyable, even though the water was freezing!
We settled into the new hotel fairly quickly and the next morning awoke to depart for Plitvice Lakes National Park.
Without doubt, the waterfalls here were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. No wonder the park has been granted UNESCO world heritage status. As well as waterfalls there were picturesque lakes and caves. You can’t say you have seen Croatia if you haven’t been to Plitvice Lakes National Park! After another boat journey across a large lake, we set off to our final hostel in Zadar, where we would stay for three nights.
Upon arriving at our hostel, we were pleasantly surprised by it’s whereabouts as well as the hostel itself. It's bright colours and prime location welcomed us as we settled in. Several of us went for morning walks along the sea front and listened to the "Sea Organ."
The next day involved a three hour hike in our second national park - Paklenica. Even though I can confidently say this was the most tiring day of our trip, we all had a great time admiring the cliffs and climbers who were risking their lives, to a certain extent, to climb these enormous rocks.
"You can't say you have seen Croatia if you haven't been to Plitvice Lakes National Park!"
