FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 25, 2018 Contact: Jill Holmen | (218) 499-3177 Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch Officiates Sparta Business Park Grand Opening SPARTA, Wis. (25 September 2018) – Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch addressed a crowd of city officials, chamber of commerce members, local business owners, MSA project engineers, contractors and citizens in Sparta, Wisconsin, yesterday to celebrate the grand opening of South Pointe Business Park. Kleefisch, along with City of Sparta Mayor Ron Button, State Representative Nancy VanderMeer, Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director John Hendricks and City Administrator Todd Fahning marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the new business park site. The new business park, encompassing a total of 180 acres, is located just off Interstate 90 and State Highway 27 in Sparta and offers expanded lots ranging in size from 1 ½ to 60 acres, with a community stormwater retention component included with each lot. A portion of the park also holds the distinction of being named a Certified in Wisconsin ® development-ready site by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), a designation provided to only 20 sites to date. The goal of the Certified Sites Program is to enable and promote shovel-ready development sites in the state of Wisconsin, with key approvals, documentations and assessments already in place to encourage an expedited development timeline. MSA contributed design and construction work to Phase I of the project and is moving forward working with City officials on a preliminary design for the addition of a water system, water reservoir, expanded acreage and street infrastructure.
