October is Wisconsin’s Manufacturing Month and the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce is
celebrating by bringing back the opportunity for our members to see inside some of our local
manufacturers. These tours were very popular last year and we anticipate equal interest this
year as we highlight several of Sparta’s outstanding manufacturers.
There will be three opportunities to participate in this year’s tours. Each day will include three
different sites.
Tours will take place on:
o Tuesday, October 9, 12:15 PM to 4:15 PM
o Thursday, October 11, 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM
o October 17, 12:15 PM to 4:15 PM
Chamber members who are interested in participating in one of the tours should contact the
Chamber (269-4123) while space is available. Each tour is limited to 10 members. To allow for
maximum participation, chamber members may only sign up for one day.
Among the sites included in the tours are NECAL, FAST Corp., SFI Inc., Carlisle Corp., Spartek,
US Silica, and Pica Grove. We are very grateful to these businesses for opening their doors and
providing this opportunity. Those participating in a tour will need to be mindful of typical
safety procedures practiced on manufacturing sites such as wearing closed toe shoes.
