20 - The Sparta Ambassador - November 2019 October Recap... Many of us braved a chilly Saturday morning to enjoy this years Fall Fest. The final farmer’s market supplied some delicious eggrolls and shopping while other vendors arrived and downtown stores opened. The day culminated with a few snowflakes and some dedicated chili cookoff entrants. Sparta Youth Hockey took home the first place trophy this year. Peo- ple’s Choice was won by Monroe County Sheriff’s Depart- ment. Best decorated went to Referral Staffing Solutions. October’s business after five event was held at the new AMS Micromedical building in South Pointe Business Park. We toured their state of the art facility and were introduced to the process of creating parts used in surgical tools and devices. One particular item, not much larger than a pin, was created with a five axis CNC machine. It will make its way to anoth- er manufacturer and be placed at the end of heart catheters which are inserted in your leg and pushed to the heart for sur- gical procedures. The jackpot has yet to be won by someone present at the BA5 event. Show up at next months event for a chance to win $650. Chamber members had the opportunity to tour some of the Sparta area’s outstanding manufacturers in recognition of Wisconsin Manufacturing Month. Thank you to the owners and managers of AMS Micromedical, Evans Print and Media Group, Brennen Industries, Multistack, Wyatt Bicycles and NECAL for their generous hospitality. Chamber members participated in a ribbon cutting and celebration of the new showroom facility for Used Anew on October 8. The new space provides an excellent opportuni- ty to showcase the repurposed materials and craftsmanship available through Used Anew. Thank you to Larry and Luann Hutson for being active chamber members.
