Ober Gatlinburg was a mini
theme park, which had a
cable car and wildlife area
where I saw bears and otters.
Guess what! There were
more water rides so I got to
get Daddy all wet again…
and again. I didn’t like the
chair lift because I was scared
about losing my shoes.
I loved staying in a railway
carriage in the Chattanooga
Choo-Choo Hotel. It was
an original Pullman train
that had been turned into a
bedroom. There were fl ames
on poles along the station
at night. They fl ickered in
the moonlight, and made
everything orangey. There
was a bit of a railway theme
to Chattanooga as we went
on a historic steam train
too. We saw them use the
turntable that turned our
train around the other way,
so that we could go back.
There was a really good
thing about Chattanooga
– we don’t just have a train
theme, we have a vehicle
theme because we went in
a car, a train and a boat. I
got to steer the Southern
Belle, a riverboat that goes
on the Tennessee River. I got
to frighten people using the
hooter! We sailed under the
longest pedestrian bridge in
the whole of America, then
later played tag across it.
