Everyone usually needs to drink, but lots and lots too fast can cause a problem. You need to drink to avoid dehydration (being very thirsty), but don’t drink unless you are 100% sure it is clean water. Babies use seven times as much water for their size, as an adult. This is why good water is very important. There’s lots of water on the planet, but we can’t drink it all as it isn’t clean enough. When there’s washing up to do aft er eating, did you know that an ecological dishwasher needs as little as 18 litres of water per cycle, while handwashing dishes uses about 90 litres? About 26,000 litres is needed to grow a whole day’s food for a family of two adults and two children. For instance, to produce 1 kilogram of beef you will need over 16,000 litres of water. Producing chocolate would need almost double that amount. A cucumber is 95% liquid. So is a jellyfish but there’s no way I’m eating one of those! SPARK 17
