also for Apple. Someday, he predicted, Apple technology would deliver Disney content.“ We’ ve been talking about a lot of things,” he explains.“ It’ s going to be a pretty exciting world looking ahead over the next five years.” 60
The Future
Jobs’ s ongoing vision of ever newer and better technology continues to make the world more exciting. However, there have been some recent bumps in the road. In early 2009, Jobs took a leave of absence from Apple due to health reasons. There was speculation that his cancer had returned, which Jobs denied. For undisclosed reasons, Jobs received a liver transplant in the spring of 2009. He returned to work on a part-time basis at the end of June.
Even if his health makes it impossible for him to work as long and hard as he has done in the past, the rebellious young man, who dreamed of bringing technology into everyone’ s life, has more than achieved his goal. He was not afraid to be different. In fact, he celebrated it. He built a whole company around it. Nor was he afraid to take risks.
No one knows what the future holds for Steve Jobs. But one thing is certain, he did what many thought was impossible. He changed the world.
