Female Infanticide is a Crime: Save the girl child and secure
her future.

I’m sure you have all heard about female infanticide. It’s extremely
sickening and stomach-churning to hear about such things happening to baby
girls. In countries with a history of female infanticide, the modern practice of
sex-selective abortion is often discussed as a closely related issue. Female
infanticide is a major cause of concern in several nations such as India, China
and Pakistan.
Female infanticide is the assassination of a baby girl soon after she comes
out of her mother’s womb. It is leading to an imbalance in the gender ratio.
The majority of female infanticide cases takes place in India compared to the
other countries and it has to stop. Female infanticide is mostly committed by
the lower caste people. They think that the girls will not be able to take the
place of a boy. They think that the girls can’t study and work. Some people
think that girls are only meant to wear bangles, sit at home, cook food, take
care of the family and be housewives. What they don’t know is that girls are
capable of doing the same things as boys sometimes even better than them.
They can achieve a lot if the people give them a chance. In India, most of the
girls are born to be killed. They are forced to get married at a young age.
Female infanticide will become a huge issue for the future generations. You
can’t just bury the girl child alive. She hasn’t even committed any crime. Due
to the poor dowry system in India people think that it’s better to give birth to
a boy rather than a girl. In addition to the dowry system the reasons for female
infanticide increasing is the due to poverty and the availability of gender
selective abortion.
This evil system is happening in many of our rural regions. People must
now wake up and realize that girls are equally as important as boys. Girls are
mostly the people that holds the roots of the house and so they must be saved
to make this world a better place and improve it.
