LETTER FROM THE GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

RICH ' S RAP

This summer has proven to have some great challenges . I have seen all spectrums of what this great property has in store for myself and my team for many years to come . We have been part of exceptional numbers of rounds being played and unforeseen drought conditions to the wettest I have seen in years . These conditions have proven to be beneficial for us as we have put together great efforts to grow the course to a better place to play . Our summer North green renovation has been a great success to date so far .
Our North greens renovation took center stage the last couple months . Growing conditions were almost perfect for this project considering the ups and downs with the high heat and extreme rain totals we endured . The turf team we have is second to none ! Jessie , Mike , Louis and the crew carried out the plan to near perfection . Our mechanic , Carlos , was the glue to our madness all while keeping our equipment in top cutting shape this summer . He has taken our agronomic plan to a new level with his desire to provide the very best quality of cut he can . The North greens look great and putt exceptional !
Course wide improvements in the reduction of grassy weeds and broadleaf weeds has taken the seat right next to our North grow-in when it came to what is important . We have seen reductions in almost every weed we have by over 50 %. This reduction has allowed us to grow a stronger Bermuda base and fill in areas normally covered by weeds . We will continue the reduction of weeds throughout season as well . When time and conditions allowed , old dying or dead trees were taken down throughout all three nines . Let ’ s get onto season !
See you around the course ,
