LETTER FROM THE GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

RICH ' S RAP

Happy New Year ! Winter season is finally here in Southwest Florida ! Looking forward to seeing many new and familiar faces on the courses enjoying our newly planted rye grass over-seed and the newly renovated north greens . Fall months were great for us . There were some slow starts to a few projects but everything came in great . We have a great transition from a great mechanic in Carlos to another great mechanic in Chuck . The staff has pulled off great feats once again in preparation for the many rounds of golf getting ready to be played !
All three 9-hole courses are fully grown-in from our winter over-seeding . You will get to enjoy some very nice visual experiences daily with our staff showing off their creative patterns to the mowing process . There will be new as well as many familiar challenges for the golfers . The cart path work is on-going with a few newly improved paths for season as we continue to dry out from a very wet summer and fall .
I cannot be more excited for this season to have gotten started ! We had some very interesting times throughout the course of the year on our property . All these experiences have molded me and our team to a much stronger one ! More and more we are getting cross-trained and retrained in our environment . This is really showing on our greens , fairways and a lot in our interior line of work . Small detailed stuff is getting better daily . Bunkers are on a monthly edging program ; cart paths and lake banks continue to get done on a more frequent basis and this all results in a more desirable place to play . Let ’ s all have a great season !
See you around the course ,

Richard Osgood
