CASE STUDY 3
SYMBOLIC REPRESENTATION OF HUNGARIAN CONTEMPORARY ART
In Hungary spaces of contemporary art are quite hard to find . Tourist maps usually don ’ t include them and only the major museums have signs . Information about exhibitions and openings are gathered in a leaflet called “ index-link ” which can be found at the venues included in it . It has had many forms but nowadays it ’ s a black and white print with basic design , a Hungarian artist always makes the cover . The leaflet contains a written text about a current topic in the art scene , but the whole publication is only in Hungarian . It doesn ’ t include symbols of art spaces ( which are usually only typographic signs or minimalistic symbols such as square , circle etc .), only a map marked with numbers .
