Items include two woven silk souvenirs (McKinley mourning & Expo emblem), large card showing Tiffany & Co. pavilion, Singer Sewing Machine round advert and several fancy envelopes with all-over designs, some with souvenir cards inside, map/ brochure, official Daily Program for June 21, memorial card for McKinley, souvenir weather map, menu for ‘chafing-dish supper,’ William O. Shallcross advert for his prize winning French asparagus with photograph, others. Additional group of 51 expo labels, little duplication. Fine to very fine condition. PH $200-300 Two photo albums containing B&W photos, ticket stubs, handouts, etc for the 1933/34 Chicago Century of Progress International Exposition, photo booklets from the 1892 Exposition & 1904 World’s Fair, plus colorful ribbon from 1894 San Francisco Exposition. Also a large ‘The Illustrated Historical Register of the Centennial Exposition 1876.’ – PAN-AMERICAN – 451 1899-1901 PAN-AMERICAN EXPO COLLECTION OF TRADE CARDS, ENVELOPES & COVERS ........ PH $150-250 453 1901 PAN-AMERICAN EXPOSITION GUIDE & PICTURE BOOKS ................................................. PH $350-500 Five different publications for the Pan-American Exposition of 1901 held in Buffalo, New York. Beautiful guidebooks filled with photographs of the Expo grounds, lakes, buildings, Midway, sculpture and personages (organizers, Indians, midgets, various foreigners and a diving elk to name a few). Titles include: ‘Snap Shots on the Midway of the Pan-AmExpo,’ The Pan-American and its Midway,’ ‘The Pan-American at a Glance,’ ‘The Wm Hengerer Co. Sketch Book of the Pan-American Exposition’ (from department store), and Bennitt Illustrated Souvenir Guide Pan American Exposition.’ Attractive, generally fine to very fine, a couple with minor cover wear and one with light foxing. Stack of over 100 printed trade cards, envelopes and postcards produced for the Pan-American Exposition in 1901 in Buffalo. Includes picture postcards of various buildings of the Expo; several honoring McKinley; envelopes with corner cards for Expo related firms or the official emblem; trade cards from various companies handed out at the Expo. About 20 covers with Expo related corner cards or slogan machine cancels, but not mailed at the Expo itself. Also a Workman’s Pass, a train schedule and a few other odds & ends. Overall fine to very fine condition, interesting items with some light duplication. 454 1901 PAN-AMERICAN EXPO POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT SOUVENIR CARD ...................... PH $300-400 Limited edition postal card given as souvenir from the Post Office Department Exhibit at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo. Not to be mailed, blank card has experimental machine cancel dated July 18, 1901 and has ‘P.O.DEPT.EX’ within bars in cancel. According to Bomar, just over 20 examples were known in his census (1986). Very fine. Bomar catalog number B-01-12.
