8"x10" and rest smaller, signed by mostly American officers
from WWII to Vietnam, the vast majority being Generals and
Admirals. Signatures include: Abrams, Ridgeway, Zumwalt,
Clark, Westmoreland, Haig, Gavin and many more with some
duplication. About half uninscribed, and most in very fine
condition.

officers from WWII to Vietnam, majority being Generals and
Admirals. Signatures include: Westmoreland, Gavin, Taylor,
Moorer, Halsey, LeMay, Zumwalt, Ridgeway, Mark Clark,
Carney, Lawton Collins, and many more with duplication of
signature. Some unsigned covers as well. Average very fine
condition.

Envelope with First Day cachet, postmarked on V.J. Day
(Victory over Japan) September 2, 1945, autographed by crew
members of both planes to drop atomic bombs on Japan.
Includes both pilots: Charles Sweeney, inscribed ‘Pilot
Nagasaki’, and Paul Tibbets, pilot of the Enola Gay. Other
crew members who have signed: Morris Jeppson (weapon test
officer), Dutch Van Kirk (navagator), Richard Nelson (radio)
of the Enola Gay, and Frederick Ashworth and Fred Olivi
(co-pilot) of the Bockscar. Other various inscriptions alongside
signatures, usually indicating role on historic flights. All in
different ink. Very fine. Similar item sold recently for $450.
Group of 8 War and Combat Insignia albums, most 7½”x10",
containing narratives and poster stamps of different US units.
They all look to be complete with few if any missing stamps.
Good to fine condition.

Special Service Section on ‘HEADQUARTERS/U.S. FORCES,
EUROPEAN THEATER/Office of the Commanding General’
stationery, signed in pen ‘Dwight D. Eisenhower’. Eisenhower
states ‘In a way your letter was something like a breath of
fresh air in a very stuffy room.’ Letter 6"x8", gum stain across
top from mounting not affecting any printing. Roughly opened
envelope with flap missing, with typed ‘General Dwight D.
Eisenhower/APO 757, U.S. Army’ return address on front.
Good content. Fine to very fine.

Group of about 150 large and small photos mostly of Pacific
Theater WWII US fighters and bombers including on tarmac,
in flight, nose art, bombing runs, bomb damage and more.
Most military issued but some personal. Includes also graphic
images of combat aftermath, signed photo of 3 Flying Tigers
pilots and folder of photos of US jets at Edwards AFB in 1957.
Many never seen before images.

D. Eisenhower, APO 757 (Frankfurt, Germany), signed
‘Dwight D. Eisenhower’ in left portion between typed
‘Censored by:’ and ‘General of the Army, U.S. Army,’ back
flap imprinted ‘Headquarters / U.S. Forces, European Theater
/ Office of the Commanding General.’ Cover slit open neatly at
top. No postal markings. Full signature by Eisenhower as
general in a likely attempt at humor. Very fine. (University

1940s FIFTY CALIBER CARTRIDGE LIGHTER

An approximately 17"x27" irregular section of metal wreckage
salvaged in Europe from a WWII B-24 Liberator bomber
bearing a signed 1990 painting by P.G. Johnson of original
risque nose art from the B-24 ‘Strawberry Bitch.’ Small pieces
of velcro on the back at the 3 contact points for display. Very
attractive.

TRAINING MANUAL ............................................. PH $200-300
‘Recognition of Ships & Aircraft’ Ground School Manual dated
Jan 1942 from the Corpus Cristi NAS. Loaded with photos
and identifying characteristics of US, Japanese and German
aircraft and ships, including several ships that were later sunk
at Midway. Very interesting manual full of annotations.
Bullet top Lighter (6½x2½”) made from a cartridge. Top comes
off to reach lighting mechanism. Appears to never have been
used. Unusual. Ex-Lou Villegas collection.

Doolittle, Westmoreland, Gavin, Ridgeway, Mark Clark,
Carney, Jimmy Stewart, Stilwell, Dan Butterfield (composer
of Taps) and many more with duplication of signature. Some
unsigned items as well such as ration coupons and rocket mail.
Very fine condition. Viewing highly recommended.

Group of 26 signatures of WWII Tokyo Raider Jimmy Doolittle
on photos (x7), covers (x14) and other (x5). Photos range from
8"x10" to smaller and it looks like all items signed post-war.
Very little duplication and majority in very fine condition and
uninscribed.
