The walkers raised funds for our 2016 charities, Chelsea’ s Angels and Glamis Hall. The routes were very scenic, challenging and hard work. Well done to all who took part especially to Vijyaben, Jasuben and Kumuben who are all over 70 years old.
SPA 5th Charity Golf Day
On Saturday 14 May 2016, Nanubhai, Hiten, Vijay and Satish took part in the SPA Charity Golf Day at Stonebridge Golf Club in Coventry. It was fun filled day with over 50 golfers from numerous branches taking part in 18 holes of golf followed by a trophy presentation and BBQ.
It was a glorious sunny day and excellently organised by Gulabbhai, Gitaben and Divyen and several other members from Coventry branch. The day included breakfast, a refreshment pack to take on the course, lunch, raffle, and prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive as well as the overall winner. Unfortunately, none of the Wellingborough team won any of the golf prizes although Nanubhai did win a raffle prize. It really was a fun day and we’ ll certainly be back for future years.
Bhuvaneshwari Mataji Katha
This event took place on Sunday 5 June 2016 at the Hindu Community Centre in Wellingborough. It was well attended with around 150 people in total. The event started at 9am and we were pleased with the support of the yajmans and the public who attended. The pooja was conducted by Shree Labshanker Shastri from Gondal Mandir in a very peaceful and holy atmosphere. After the havan, thal and aarti, a discourse was given by Adhyaksh Shree Dr Ravindersanji. This was followed by darshan, pranam and bhojan parsadi for all.
The committee would like to thank all Yajmans, donors, the public for their support and especially the volunteers who were up very early on Sunday morning preparing the food and setting up the hall. All of this made this charity fundraising event a success and the money collected will go to our nominated charities for 2016.
From all of us in Wellingborough, we wish you all a Happy Diwali and Prosperous New Year
