Jai Shree Krishna to all Prajapati Members
“ we have been encouraged this year, with new members joining the main Samaj team and our AGM saw some of our younger generations join as well.”
The last few years have been a challenging time for the Samaj, with a decline in participation in core activities. However, we have been encouraged this year, with new members joining the main Samaj team and our AGM saw some of our younger generations join as well.
Our main activity on a day to day basis is to run our Mandir. Our thanks go to the Mandir committee who perform daily Puja, Arti and Nityaniyam in the morning and evening. Our Mahila have continued to play a huge role in the Samaj throughout the year and have taken responsibility for catering at major events and continuing to bring thaal on a daily basis.
Top to bottom: Race For Life,
Bradford Mandir,
Our raffle at Navratri festival was successful raising about £ 800, for the Nepal Earthquake appeal.
We held a week long religious programme in the month of Shravan with Rameshbhai Shashtri, ending with a havan and bhojan prasadi, which proved to be very successful.
This year on 28th May we had a Shivling Abhishek Pujan Vidhi, performed by Bhuneshwari Maharaj, followed by bhojan prasadi.
Ramilaben( our Mahila president) and a group of Mahilas helped to raise £ 694 for Race For Life – well done to all who took part, and thank you to those who donated money to this great cause!
On 25th June, some of our‘ Youth’ members got together and had a football tournament, which included 4 teams( 24 players) mixed between young and old and enjoyed by all.
Bradford took part in the SPA( UK) cricket tournament on 10th July, which was held in Leicester( Oadby), and nearly won the competition but came runners-up.
