HQ REPORT TREASURER President Namaste an d Jai shree sh ree Krishna Krish na I would like to begin by wishing you all a very Happy Diwali and a prosperous New Year. Now in my second year as the Treasurer, I would like to express my gratitude to the Pratinidhis and hope to continue to serve the Samaj to the best of my ability. It would not be possible to carry out this task without the hard work by Rajnikantbhai Mistry from Leicester and Bhupendrabhai from Wellingborough as my assistants. I ‘‘I express my sincere appreciation to Jay Mistry of London for excellent advice and support as our accounts examiner...’’ also express my sincere appreciation to Jay Mistry of London who has continued to provide excellent advice and support as our accounts examiner. This year we have made further improvement to our financial management system. In terms of financial activities, there has been a mix of surplus and deficits from SPA (UK) events. The deficits are largely due to falling attendances whereas the events with good participation have continued to be self-financed. I am very pleased to say that Prajapati Sandesh was back in surplus this year after a small deficit the previous year. We hope that you will continue to support this publication by submitting adverts, congratulations and Shradhdhanjalis. The third Seniors Sneh Milan was extremely well attended this year. One of its aim was to raise funds for the Nepal Earthquake survivors, and I am very pleased to say that our Seniors raised approximate £3,595 on the day. Well done to our Seniors. In the previous year, our chosen charity was Water Aid. With all fund collection concluded, SPA (UK) presented a cheque for £18,996.51 to Water Aid on 20th September 2015 at the Pratinidhi Meeting in our London Samaj hall. We will continue to self-finance our Samaj events and to support our chosen charities. I hope that you will continue to support our Samaj by way of attendance and donation. The Nairobi Trust Fund’s income has continued to be used to fund charitable causes through ITF. The current value of the fund at the end of the financial period stood at £107,788 of which £10,199 is available for charitable use.
