W
e are proud to announce that Jitubhai Mistry, President
of SPA (UK) has been recognised as one of the top
100 Gujarati people globally who have reached the
apex of their career around the world and are respected for their
remarkable achievements.
A coffee-table book entitled “Jewels of Gujarat“ - Leading Global
Gujarati Personalities was published by Manish Media who were
responsible for researching, meeting individuals throughout the
world and selecting them for the award.
What sets this compilation apart is that there is less description
of their professional life but more details of their humble beginnings,
the hardship phase they have gone through besides their social and
community involvement along with a brief family introduction.
An awards ceremony was held in India on 6th January 2015 to which
Jitubhai was invited to attend. Due to unavoidable circumstances,
Jitubhai was not able to attend, so the Chairman of Manish Media
Shree Chandmal Kumawat presented a plaque to Jitubhai during our
Pratinidhi Meeting in London on 20th September 2015.
The citation reads:
Heartiest Congratulations to Mr Jitendra Chhaganlal Mistry –
A Glorious Gem with remarkable achievements and contributions
to the society.
There were three other Prajapatis who have been recognised as
one of the 100 Jewels of Gujarat. Shree Balubhai Vallabhbhai Lad
from Navsari Ashram, Dr Parimal Balubhai Lad, Medical Director
and Oncosurgeon from Navsari, and the Late Shree Vijaydev Ratanjee
Mistry from Johannesburg.
In his message, Shree Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India
said “We must listen to our inner-voice and concede to the fact
that happiness does not reside only in the material possession but
in fullness of life. It is their inner instinct and love for work, which
brought success to those who are “Jewels of Gujarat”.
Through this award, not only was Jitubhai recognised for his work,
but also the work by Shree Prajapati Association (UK). A copy of the
book was distributed to each branch for reference.
