TOP TEN LUXURY SPA TREATMENT TRENDS
It's 2015 and the spa world is bigger than ever. In an ever-growing, ever-changing industry, we need to be conscious for what is the "in" trend, and also where we should spend our hard earned money. Here are a few of the top ten spa treatment trends for 2015, that can be considered, and it isn't all geared toward expensive treatments.
PHOTO REJUVINATION FACIALS
Considered the best treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, persistent red complexion, sunspots, and acne scars. Intense Pulsed Lights (IPL) delivers light to deeper cells, leaving surface cells undamaged. This is successful because there is virtually no recovery time and no chemicals are needed.
MICRODERMABRASION
Another "go-to" for acne scars, to eliminate dark age spots, and diminish the look of wrinkles. Tiny crystals and a facial buffer remove the top layer of dead skin cells. Unfortunately, there is a recovery time and the skin can appeared "burnt" looking and more than one treatment is recommended.
LASER SKIN RESURFACING
Along the laser-craze, this can reduce facial wrinkles and skin irregularities. It directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin, removing skin, layer by layer. Be aware, as you need to be a successful candidate for any laser treatment. It is best for lighter skin tones and fine lines.
3-FREE POLISH
This means your polish is free of toulene, formaldehyde and parabens. Typically used in the past for its fast drying effects, these chemicals are now proving toxic, and in some cases, linked to breast cancer. 3-Free Polish is a safe alternative to chemical induced polishes and is safe for the environment and for pregnant women. Check out Spa Ritual, Nubar and Zoya polishes for a full range of choices and long lasting polish.
THE NEVER DOUBLE DIP
Double dipping (in waxing treatments) is the procedure of continuous dipping of the same wax utensil in the same wax pot for multiple clients. Given the multiple reasons for this unsanitary practice, the never double dip procedure was implemented. This means your technician uses disposable wooden sticks and never ever dips that same stick back into the same wax. This is a great question to ask to make sure you are never double dipped.
