Don’t – try someone new. This is not the time to shop around for a new beautician. If you are happy with your spa, don't fix what's not broken. Every stylist has their own, unique style, and you may not like this new found change.
Don’t – experiment with new lotions and potions because your stress levels may be higher than normal leading up to your wedding. This can create a change in your cortisol levels, which can affect your body's pH. This can cause an adverse reaction, resulting in hives, breakouts, rash or redness.
Do – Practice your strut. Without scuffing up those new shoes, break into them and practice walking in your wedding shoes:
Smile, smile, smile!
Walk up and down stairs
Turn around
Keep your bouquet low; flowers are nice, décolleté is nicer.
Don’t – be afraid to speak up. This is the one time in your life you can be picky with everything; you will not get a chance to re-do this day ever again. You want to look at your photos and be happy with EVERYTHING, including you! Estheticians and stylists expect pickiness from a bride. If you are unhappy, tactfully let them know.
Do – your waxing treatments 3 days ahead.
This will take down any redness, bumpiness or swelling that can sometimes occur on your waxed skin. And no – your hair will not fully grow back within 3 days.
Do – Book yourself a massage after your wedding. Although it’s a good idea to also have a massage before your wedding, I recommend a couple of days after. Even if you are on your honeymoon, book one in your resort or hotel. Once you are newly wed and can breathe again, your body will begin to relax. And what better way to help you unwind?
