ou want to have a facial but with so many different skin treatments available it can be difficult to decide how often you
should have one to achieve the best results for your skin. There are two kinds of facials; maintenance facials that are relaxing, deep cleansing and exfoliating facials, and then there are more advanced facials that include micro-current, microdermabrasion, acne, Rosacea, photo-facials, stem cell, peptide and amino acid facials. It’s best to book a consultation at the spa you decide to visit with an aesthetician to determine what will help you achieve the results you are seeking.
Maintenance facials give you clean, perfectly balanced skin and a radiant complexion. Most facials are recommended once a month to keep skin healthy and in top condition, however some facials are recommended as a series of treatments to achieve the best results for certain skin conditions.
Acne facials help to remove oil blockages, clean out pores, and decreases oil flow and redness. Recommended once every two to three weeks, in combination with doctor recommended medication, proper skincare at home, chemical peels or IPL (Intense pulsed light) with blue light to fight acne bacteria for curative results. Some facials are preformed weekly for acneic skin to achieve deep pore cleaning and to prevent new blockages from occurring.
Micro-current facials or non-surgical facelift treatments include electronic muscle stimulation that tightens, tones and lifts slackened muscles in the neck and facial contours. This is a series treatment and recommended two treatments per week for three to six weeks, followed by maintenance facials once every three to four weeks. Complete this entire series once or twice every year to achieve maximum lift of the facial and neck muscles.
Micodermabrasion is a gentle sandblasting over the surface of your skin to smooth out uneven texture, refine large pores, diminish fine lines, stimulate collagen and increase penetration of active ingredients for your skin’s radiance. Combine microdermabrasion with a facial or chemical peel to produce more dramatic results. The combination will increase exfoliation and cell turnover to help brighten and tighten your skin. This is a series treatment. Recommended once a week for six to 12 weeks, depending on the condition of your skin.
