Dispensa [1935-2018] with a Proclamation that was read by Supervisor Paul Hansut. Dispensa, a life-long resident of the Town of Lloyd, married Vito Dispensa at St. Augustine’s Church on January 7, 1957, who predeceased her in 2015. She is survived by two sons, John and his wife Lisa, Anthony and his wife Lorraine, and granddaughters Kristen, Danielle, and Jonni Elizabeth, siblings Teresa Dispensa, Paul Attard, and John Attard, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Krista Anna Dispensa, her brothers Joseph, and Thomas Attard, sisters Delores Martinez, and Cecilia Figueira. Dispensa was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #193 since 2003, the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters since 2004. Dispensa was long-time member and past Treasurer of the Mid-Hudson Senior Citizens and also served as the Town of Lloyd Court Clerk from 1986 to 2004. She was an associate member of the Town of Lloyd Democratic Committee. The Town Board’s Proclamation concluded with the statement that “Martha M. Dispensa was known for her jovial manner, her generosity, her friendship to all and her devotion to family and community [and] will be deeply missed by her community, friends and family.” Supervisor Hansut said Dispensa, “had a special meaning to everyone up here, we’re going to miss her. She and In the front row family and members of the Ladies Auxiliary attended the Lloyd Town Board for the reading of a Memorial Proclamation in honor of the late Martha M. Dispensa. Pictured L-R Lorraine Dispensa, Anthony Dispensa, Lucy Busick, Genevieve Ose, Rosanne Cooper, John Dispensa and Christine Giangrasso. I had a lot of fun together, a lot of good conversations, especially around election time we always had a good time together.” Hansut said it is always a bit unsettling when a life-long couple in the community are both gone. “We’re going to miss them very much,” he said. Councilwoman Claire Winslow said Martha, “always did a lot for me and I wouldn’t be here [on Town Board] if it wasn’t for her family.” Councilman Joe Mazzetti said Martha will be greatly missed. “Every time I saw her she had a great big smile and gave me a hug...It’s sad when you lose someone so great in our community,” he said. Councilman Lenny Auchmoody spoke to her sons Anthony and John, who were in attendance. “Your parents are the people who will be fondly remembered and sorely missed,” he said.
