For more than 70 years, Callistus
Smith Agency has been
a source of stability, serving
Southern Indiana and Louisville
with the insurance coverage
they need to protect the things that
matter.
The company offers a full line of commercial
and personal insurance packages,
including health and life insurance. Clients
are represented by the well-established
team of 18 agents — who provide a combined
530 years of experience.
This includes four experienced agents
who were welcomed to the team in January
after Selfridge and Associates, a company
with three decades in the community,
joined with Callistus Smith Agency. Zary
Lete, Andy Selfridge, Mary Kost and Sara
Piper come to Callistus Smith with 110
years combined experience, and a versatility
to offer clients.
“The team members’ knowledge and
experience within the insurance industry,
that’s been very beneficial to us, they also
brought some new companies we didn’t
previously write with,” Hilary Renn, with
Callistus Smith said.
The Callistus Smith name is one the
community has long known and trusted,
that’s why more than 90% of their business
is referrals from families and businesses
whose assets Callistus Smith helps protect.
“A lot of people don’t like to think about
insurance because it brings up the feeling
of ‘something may happen,’” Renn said.
“But it’s good to know that we are able to
be there for our community whenever a
disaster does happen.
“That way we can help them rebuild
and get back some sort of normalcy after
a loss.”
As an insurance agency, Callistus Smith
understands the need to be prepared.
That’s why several years ago they began
working on putting a system in place that
would allow them to digitize records and
work remotely if there was ever a disaster
that prevented them from working in the
building.
