perfectly, but God’s strength is going to come
through for me and he’s going to make what-
ever needs to happen, happen.
One of the other ones is from Isaiah, and
it’s ‘Those that wait upon the Lord will renew
their strength and will mount up on wings like
eagles. They shall run and not grow weary,
and walk and not faint.’ When I was an athlete
and I was in the high jump, I would repeat that
every time.

What’s something people would
be surprised to learn about you?
I really like spicy food; I literally eat jala-
peños almost every day. My dad always liked
spicy food. I can my own jalapeños; I grow
them at the garden. My wife, when we first got
married, she thought I was crazy, but now she
eats them, too. Not every day, but more than
she did before. If I can, I will eat them every
day on something. It’s pretty much everything,
I’ll figure out a way to make it spicy.
