Tammy Price Anger and Paige Botts The real estate mother-daughter duo of Tammy Price Anger and Paige Botts , members of the Eagle Realty & Development team in Somerset , both were intrigued by the real estate industry before either of them ever became realtors , and both have backgrounds that gave them relevant experience .
Tammy , along with her husband , bought , remodeled and sold houses and were rental owners prior to her going into real estate back in May of 2018 , which was when she got her Realtor ' s license .
This is where she got her first exposure to real estate , and she was bit by the real estate bug .
" I became very intrigued by real estate ," she said .
In addition , Tammy has an extensive background in human resources , and this , she said , helps her with the human side of the real estate business .
" I really love people ," she said , and added that experience in human resources has many parallels with being a realtor .
" In human resources , people may come to you with a problem , or maybe looking for advancement or a change , or for guidance or counseling ," added Tammy .
Tammy would then work with the employee she was trying to help to figure out the specifics of that person ' s needs and then come up with a detailed plan to help them .
This skill set transfers well to folks who want to sell or buy their home . " It ' s a similar paradigm ," she said . " You help them reach their decision , because it ' s ultimately their decision ."
As far as how it feels to her as a person and as a realtor , Tammy said it is very satisfying to help someone find their new home .
" It ' s awesome !" she exclaimed . " Isn ' t that the American dream ?"
She said a Realtor wants a homebuyer to be sure , and so the Realtor can ' t be too " pushy ."
" You want your client to love their new home ," said Tammy .
Paige Botts , Tammy ' s daughter , who very recently joined her mother in the real estate world , echoed the sentiment . " They think of you ," said Paige , and added that the customer ' s satisfaction , or dissatisfaction , is a reflection of the realtor , something which realtors must remember obliges them to put the client ' s needs first .
Tammy agreed , " Most people can name their realtor ."
" I always see the people – not the transactions ," she added . " If we take care of people , God will take care of us ."
Tammy also encourages people to consider buying over renting because with owning your own home , you " can control your own destiny ."
Paige Botts brings past experience to real estate work that helps her , like her mom , to understand both the practical and human sides of the business .
For many years , Paige was in the medical field , specifically in nursing , a job centered around understanding an individual ' s needs .
She then joined her husband ' s family ' s property management company , giving her a taste of a real estate-related business .
Then she saw how passionate her mother was about real estate and was inspired to take that next step .
" I saw how successful she was very quickly , and that inspired me to jump in and follow in her footsteps ," said Paige .
Being new to the business , she has been focusing on learning the ins and outs of the trade from her mother , shadowing her on the job , and attending closings and meetings .
" There ' s a lot more to it than people think ," she said . " You definitely have to work ." Paige feels she is learning from one of the best . " She ' s really good at talking and negotiating ," she said of Tammy .
Paige has been learning valuable lessons all her life from her mom — even before her Tammy was in the real estate world — when it comes to skills that ended up being handy in the business .
" Growing up , we were taught to give back ," said Paige , adding that part of her motivation for getting into the real estate business was because she wanted to help people .
Paige aspires now to contribute by closing her own deals and building her business both in Pulaski County and also in the Jamestown and Russell Springs area .
