Favi dreamed of something better for her little ones, and had the opportunity to legally work in the U. S.
However, it broke her heart to have to leave her extended family behind, and even more to have to leave her kids behind.
But she said she knew the only real opportunity for a better life for them rested in her pursuing employment opportunity in the States
Fortunately, Favi ' s mother was up to the task of tending to the kids to give Favi the chance to do well.
She landed in a rural
county in southern Kentucky, and right away began working at a manufacturer there, a job she kept for around 20 years.
She also met a gentleman named Ronnie Luttrell there, who eventually asked her to marry him, and he said he didn ' t mind that she already had young children.
She was eventually able to bring over her children, and now, over 20 years later, she is still married to Ronnie and their family has grown to include Genesis Grace, the ice cream store ' s namesake – and Official Taste Tester.
