Favi ' s sons, Edgar and Emmanuel Fernandez, are taking on management responsibilities for that location, she said.
But not everything was roses along the way.
Favi said she got in on the business about the time Covid got into full swing, so things were quite lean for a while.
However, her trust in her family and the Lord saw her through.
She prayed a good deal, asking God to bless her family and her store, and she strongly feels the prayers are a big part of what got her through, along with her family ' s unwavering support and hard work.
Now that Covid is in the past, and the business has grown favorably, Favi said the store and her family are doing well, and she gives the Lord the credit.
In addition to the new storefront in Columbia, Gigi ' s Homemade Ice Cream also has an ice cream truck that can be spotted in the area this year at various venues.
