The Guardians

During World War One, the women of the
Paridier farm, under the deft hand of
Hortense, the family's matriarch (Nathalie
Baye) grapple with the workload while the
men are off at the front. New tools allow the
women to triumph over the land, newfound
independence is acquired, yet emotions are
stirred especially when the men return from
the front on short leaves. Acclaimed
filmmaker Xavier Beauvois (Of Gods and Men)
revels in the beauty of the French
countryside, unravaged by war, yet also keeps
his focus on the intricate drama that plays
out against the upheaval of the Great War.

Stars Concert
Thursday 17 January
The Irish Country Stars Concert makes its first
visit to The Source Arts Centre.
Artists appearing on this special show include
Declan Nerney, Trudi Lalor, Gerry Guthrie,
Simon Casey, Paddy O' Brien and the Ryan
Turner Band.
Trudi Lalor from Tipp FM's ‘Premier Country’
will also be hosting the show.
This will be a super night featuring some of
the top stars from the scene and the best of
homegrown country music talent and
entertainment in the intimate setting of The
Source theatre. It’s guaranteed to be a sell-
