Cyclone Reporatory Theatre presents
The Shakespeare Sessions
Thursday 26 January
Friday 27 January
THEATRE
Time: 9.45am & 1pm - The Merchant of Venice Session
Time: 9.45am & 1pm - Romeo and Juliet Session
Price: €15 (teachers and SNAs are free)
The Shakespeare Sessions engage students in a scholarly review clarifying the main
themes of both exam plays as well as offering discussion with the students and the
opportunity to participate.
Cyclone Rep will be performing two plays for Junior Certificate audiences: The Romeo
& Juliet Session - where modern performers are directed on stage by the Bard himself
whose 16th century attitudes and demeanour clash with contemporary views.
The Merchant Session - the most interactive of Cyclone Rep's shows, offers an
entertaining and informative synthesis of analysis and performance, highlighting what
a fine comedy it is.
“Performed with excellent explanation and humour. Brilliant and a must for all
students" - Lorraine Sherry, Dublin Parent
