GREENbank Park

He enjoyed sitting by the pond in Greenbank Park and breathing in the sharp cold air . Reducing his stress and gathering his thoughts , not considering the assessment ’ s final mark . Casting his eyes across the natural calm to take in the trees and plants , rubbish and wildlife – it seems to throw up no reason for alarm . Squirrels rummaging in empty bins to get their kicks , a goose frolicking in the froth in amongst some sticks . Well , he ’ s certain they ’ re sticks ; his eyes might be playing tricks on him . He thought , owing to the complexion , it ought to be something wooden . But he spots a reflection of the sun , and soon this fun scenario changes to one of dread after seeing the red label . The goose will take the loose waste as food and he can only hope it doesn ’ t choke on the Coke bottle that has broken into two pieces and now releases to the geese that thick dense liquid that could trick you into thinking it ’ s oil which too spoils and embroils the lake to make the animals suffer for our mistakes , our negligence , our stupidity .
