● What direction do you hope to see podcasts go in?

I’d like to see some more high-budget independent podcast productions. This is common practice in the film and television world, where an indie director or team comes in to make a film and gets someone like Sony or Netflix to fund and/or distribute it. Today, most big budget shows are coming out of the networks themselves. Companies like WNYC, NPR, and Gimlet, make their programs in house and the drawback is that those larger institutions tend to be more conservative, which is understable. However, I think for the medium to actually see significant growth and diversity, I’d like to see more openness to indie production companies like myself that make shows that we can sell for distribution through these companies. That’s what we’re doing with The Cohabit and ultimately with Prismatic Radio, the production company I work for, which is to maintain our independence and just keep creating the world we wish to see the industry move towards.
