Fear can no longer be your driving force
if you want to change the direction of
your life. You have to make a decision
to allow courage and TRUST to step up.
You must restore your roar!
Recently I (Karen) had what I like to call
my “kitchen encounter” with God. I was
standing in the kitchen at the sink doing
dishes and cleaning up after a family
dinner when suddenly and so clearly,
I heard Him say to me, “Karen, do you
trust me?”
That question was quickly followed by
more, as the Spirit of God spoke to me,
saying, “You are about to walk through
a difficult and uncertain season, Karen.”
I would love to say that I quickly turned
my ear toward heaven and listened
intently. The truth of the matter is that
I immediately rebuked those words as
if it were the enemy that spoke them to
me.
you are about to enter into a difficult
and uncertain season…but do you trust
Me?” In that moment, I knew it was the
Spirit of God. Overwhelmed, I didn’t
know what to think.
That one simple question sent me
on a quest to find answers and to
understand what true reliance on God
is really about. Our family was about
to enter a season that would test our
FAITH and our TRUST in God. That’s
right! I said Faith AND Trust. Why did
God not ask me about my Faith? Why
did He not ask me, “Do you have Faith,
Karen?” Why was the question about
Trust?
It’s impor tant to understand the
difference in Faith and Trust. The
definition of Faith is “allegiance to a
duty or a person. Belief and trust in
and loyalty to God. It is a firm belief in
something for which there is no proof.”
Faith is a spiritual decision based on a
belief in something or someone without
