How to Teac
By Ken Ham
I want to encourage parents, Sunday
school teachers, and pastors not to
teach Bible “stories” to their people.
Now, what do I mean by this?
Well, in today’s culture the word
“story” usually carries the idea of “fairy
tale.” When we teach stories from the
Bible, we can mistakenly give people,
especially children, the impression
that it is just a book of made-up stories
or fables.
We need to teach people that God’s
Word is a book of real history! Our faith
isn’t based on made-up stories from a
long time ago. The people, places, and
events described in both the Old and
New Testaments really lived, existed
... and happened. Instead of teaching
Bible stories, let us teach the biblical
accounts as real history.
One way to do this is with the 7 Cs of
History, which we use at the Creation
Museum to represent the true history
of the universe … from beginning to

end. Let me list them and as they’re
presented in the museum: Creation,
Corruption (which is the entrance
of sin), Catastrophe (or the Flood of
Noah’s day), Confusion (at the Tower
of Babel), Christ, Cross (and the
Resurrection), and the Consummation
(meaning the New Heavens and Earth
to come). The 7 C’s.
When you think about it – everything
you teach in Christianity can be placed
somewhere on this time-line of history.
You see, Christianity is based in history.
In fact, I call the Bible “the history book
of the universe.” The Bible’s not just a
book about religion – it’s real history!
Sadly, because of the influence of
evolution and millions of years, many
Christians haven’t understood that the
Bible is true history. Thus their children
grow up not understanding history.
That’s why they don’t know what to do
with dinosaurs, fossils, so-called “ape-
men,” and so on.
