Meanwhile, it had stated raining. And weather became really nice..We decided to have some tea and spicy veg cutlets. The outside view of Bissau palace has quite an interesting view.  On the left, there is an ancient Hanuman temple, the auspicious orange flag flying high in the breezy weather. The entrance to the palace is magnificent with traditional architecture in pale yellow and white colors, symmetric, elaborately carved designs. The middle courtyard is made with black and white square stones; walls all around are adorned with many coloured, black and whites photographs of royals. We noticed complete absence of lizards, mosquitoes, insects..We asked the staff of the palace about it. “The colours on the walls are made with the vegetable dyes and threes is a special kind of poison mixed in that paint which keeps the mosquitoes family thousand feet’s away”, said one old worker from the palace. Feeling proud of our heritage, wisdom of our ancestors, we continued asking the royal prince more questions.  Heritage tourism, innovations and strategies…  Yes, there are several Shekhawati havelies (small palaces) with unique characteristics of Rajasthan architecture.  They are our heritage but sadly their pillars, carvings are broken and in shambles. We accept that we come from an influential class which boasts of its royal lineage but don’t you think we have sacrificed also so much? We ran smooth administration, people were happy and justified. We also faced many leadership issues and preserved our lineage, heritage. We have sacrificed also to maintain our leaderships, our country, our estates. We have also lost so many lives in order to win many battles against enemies of country. BISSAU PALACE HOTEL 56 SOCULTURES JAN-FEB2019
