Many great people throughout history have ties to Pulaski County. Here are just a few.
Brigadier General Woodrow A. Abbott (1919 − December
29, 1994) was a United States Air Force officer who served
as director of intelligence, J-2, and inspector general of the
U.S. Readiness Command, which was then headquartered at
MacDill Air Force Base.
Joshua Aaron Anderson (born August 10, 1982) is an
American retired Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder.
He played college baseball at Eastern Kentucky University
and was drafted in the 4th round of the 2003 Major League
Baseball Draft by the Houston Astros.
Harriette Simpson Arnow (1908–1986), author of Eastern
Kentucky novels and histories. She and her husband Harold
Arnow farmed near Burnside in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
Silas Adams (1839–1896), born in Pulaski County, lawyer and
member of the United States House of Representatives.
Samuel Wilson Catron (May 11, 1953 – April 13, 2002) was
sheriff of Pulaski County, Kentucky. On the evening of April
13, 2002, Catron was assassinated by Danny Shelley after he
finished a campaign speech at a fish fry and political rally
being held at the Shopville-Stab, Kentucky Volunteer Fire
Department in the small community of Stab, Kentucky.

David Evan Davis, Jr. (November 7, 1930 – March 27, 2011)
was an American automotive journalist and magazine
publisher widely known as a contributing writer, editor and
publisher at Car and Driver magazine and as the founder of
Automobile magazine.

Edith Fitzgerald was an American screenwriter and
playwright active primarily during the 1930s.
Vermont Garrison (October 29, 1915 – February 14, 1994)
was a career officer in the United States Air Force, and a flying
ace credited with 17.33 victories in aerial combat.[1] He was
