It’s been a few months since you last heard from us, and a lot has happened since then! Through our new library and Pre-K programming initiatives, we’ve cultivated strong relationships within our communities, while not only bolstering our visibility but our membership, too.
Throughout the spring and summer, we’ve been visiting preschools to deliver hour-long programming to not only give those overworked educators a little break, but teach little ones some helpful skills, like how to tie their shoes in a curriculum called “Tied and True” or “I Think Snot,” where children learn about covering their noses and how to keep their germs to themselves. At the close of each program, we handed out gift bags which included a few small prizes along with an invitation to our Back to School Luau on
August 3rd. It was a hit! We had
over 75 girls attend with their
families, and what an event it was!
From painting seashells, to making
their own leis, and hamming it up in
the Girl Scout photo booth, fun was
had by all. And while most of those
girls signed-up to be a G.I.R.L. before
the luau, several jumped on board at
the actual event. Parents bonded
while the girls participated in
activities together, making new
friends. We couldn’t have asked for
a better recruitment event.
