Visitors : Any individual visiting school must report to the front office upon arriving on campus and is required to sign-in at the front office and obtain a guest pass . Identification is required .
1 . Classroom Observation : Parents and guardians who want to observe a class may do so only after receiving prior approval from the principal or a designee . Classroom observations should be arranged 24 hours in advance with the classroom teacher ( s ). Please review the Administrative Rule KM-R on the Cobb County Schools ’ website .
2 . Eating lunch with your child : Parents / guardians are invited to eat lunch with their children . Please remember to sign in and get a Visitor ’ s Pass from the front office . Due to federal food and nutrition guidelines , please do not bring or deliver any food from fast food restaurants to your child as required by federal government . Our goal is to provide a healthy meal as possible for our students at a reasonable cost .
3 . Friends and extended family are not permitted to spend the day at school .
Withdrawal Procedures Students withdrawing from Smitha Middle School to attend another school must bring a note from the parent / guardian stating the date of the withdrawal and the name and address of the school he / she will attend and turn the note into the front office . Alternatively , the parent may contact the front office Pupil Personnel Clerk to begin the withdrawal process . The front office Pupil Personnel Clerk will handle the withdrawal process , which may take up to 24 hours to complete . If the student is moving out of the school district , the student laptop and accessories must be returned . Regardless of the location of the new school , all books must be returned at the time of withdrawal . All student records will be provided to the new school upon written request from that school . Transcripts or record requests must be made in writing and received by the counselor at least one week prior to the mailing .
Out-of-District Students If a student is identified as “ out of district / attendance zone ,” the student will be withdrawn at the earliest opportunity . Please call the front office Pupil Personnel Clerk for any questions or to share with the school change in address .
